Founded in 1994 by its current President, Jerry Naylis, Technical Fire Services, Inc. was conceived and built to provide fire departments and public agencies with professionalism and expertise in many areas of fire protection and the fire service.

Over the last 30 years the firm has grown and evolved into a modern-day single source for fire apparatus and equipment testing. Our employees are experienced firefighters and fire protection professionals with a broad range of education and professional achievement. We proudly state that our focus is and always has been on firefighting and fire safety. Many other firms serve a broad spectrum of industries and fail to recognize the unique needs and demands of fire protection. Our team has but one purpose and passion - the fire service.

Our fire apparatus testing division provides fire apparatus vehicle pump testing. In addition to pump testing, we can deliver training programs to your department to help better understand and operate your equipment.

CONSULTING
Technical Fire Services, Inc. has a unique approach to assist fire departments and local government entities in identifying and enhancing their fire service operations. The first step is through a detailed organizational effectiveness study where the entire operation or specific aspects of the organization’s operation are examined. Through an inclusive evaluation process that includes data analysis, survey instruments, personal interviews and focus groups, the study team compares current operations against nationally recognized criteria as well as state and federal regulations. The findings of the organizational effectiveness study become the springboard to complete a Fire Protection Master Plan that fire departments and local governments can use as a long-term planning tool that enables them to better delivery the services needed by the community and improve the fire department’s operation and regulatory compliance simultaneously.
TESTING
Our fire apparatus pump testing division provides fire pump testing for vehicle mounted pumps. Tests are conducted at a location of your choosing, provided that the location has a relatively flat and level surface and a source of water (usually a hydrant) to fill the suction tank used to conduct the test. Water is circulated from the tank, through the pump and back into the tank to recycle as much water as possible.
​Testing includes capacity testing at 100%, 70%, and 50%, in addition to overload testing. A vacuum drop and primer timed tests, tank-to-pump flow test, as well as relief and/or pressure governor operation.
Each vehicle mounted fire pump is provided with a computer generated report to better assist in electronic record keeping. Our test reports are accepted by ISO and OSHA.
In addition to testing, we can deliver hands on training programs to your department to help better understand and operate your equipment.
